Dr. Roland Münch
Member of the Corporate Board of Management
President & CEO Group Division Digital Ventures
After studying electrical engineering at The Fridericiana University in Karlsruhe, Dr. Roland Münch worked as a scientific assistant at the Institute for General Electric Engineering and High-Voltage Technology at RWTH Technical University Aachen, where he also obtained his doctorate in 1990.
In 1991 Dr. Münch joined the ABB Group as a design engineer. After various senior positions he was appointed as President of ABB Calor Emag Schaltanlagen AG, Mannheim in 1998. In 1999 he went to ABB Malaysia as CEO and Country Manager.
In 2002 Dr. Münch joined the Voith Paper Management Board, assuming responsibility for the paper technology activities of Jagenberg AG, following the company's acquisition by Voith. In October 2002 he took over as Head of the Business Division Voith Paper Automation. In 2006 he was appointed to the Management Board of Voith GmbH and he has been in charge of the Group Division Voith Hydro since 2008.
Since January, 1, 2016 he has been the Chairman of the Management Board of Voith Digital Ventures.
Finance and Controlling
After studying business management at Saarland University in Saarbrücken, the graduate economist started his professional career in the internal audits department of ABB in Baden, Switzerland. After an overseas appointment at ABB in Ireland he was entrusted with his first senior position at ABB Kraftwerke AG in Baden, Switzerland. From 1998 to 2002, Matthias Lindeman headed the internal audits department of ABB AG in Mannheim, responsible for Germany and Eastern Europe.
He then joined Voith Turbo in Heidenheim to take up a position as Commercial Manager of the Business Division Rail. In 2005 he took over as Commercial Manager of Voith Paper Fabrics. Since 2006, Matthias Lindemann has been a Member of the Management Board of Voith Turbo, where he was responsible for Finance and Controlling.
On June 1, 2018, Matthias Lindemann took over responsibility for finance and controlling as member of Voith Digital Ventures board of management.
Digital Automation Systems
Marcos Blumer began as a trainee at Voith Paper in São Paulo in 1989 and worked there in various management positions until 2007, during this time period worked in different countries like Australia, Indonesia, Argentina and Chile. After this, he was transferred to Voith Paper in Tolosa, Spain, as Vice President and Member of the Board. He returned to Voith Hydro in São Paulo in 2010 as Director of Operations and on 2011 was appointed member of the board in VHP as CPO. Since 2014 he was President and Chairman of the Management Board at Voith Hydro Ltda. in São Paulo. After that, Mr. Blumer was responsible for the Division Systems and Products at this Group Division Digital Ventures. Since 2018, he leads the Division Digital Automation Systems at Voith Digital Ventures as COO.
Dr. Benedikt Hofmann
Chief Technology Officer
In October 2018, Dr. Benedikt Hofmann took over the position Chief Technology Officer of the Division Digital Ventures at Voith. Prior to that, he headed the business line Service and Upgrades at this Divison. Till 2017, Dr. Benedikt Hofmann was Senior Vice President Product Management of Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG. From 2014 to 2016, he was responsible for the Service and After-sales business of the Voith Turbo commercial vehicle sector. Before joining Voith, he worked as Manager at McKinsey&Co.
Chief Sales Officer
Matthew Watts has more than 20 years of experience in the paper industry. His most recent position was at Voith Paper as Senior Vice President for Papermaking 4.0. Before starting his career at Voith Paper in 2002, Matthew Watts worked for Aylesford Newsprint.
Chief Information Officer
Heike Niederau-Buck studied Maths and Business Studies at the University of Göttingen and went on to work for various companies as a development engineer for IT systems, manager of Controlling and later as Vice President IT. She has been the manager of the GESIS Group for IT Systems and of IT Strategy at Salzgitter AG since 2013.
In July 2018, Heike Niederau-Buck took over the position as the new Chief Information Officer and member of the Board of Management of Voith Digital Ventures.
Andreas Schmid joined Voith in 2007 and worked as attorney-at-law at Voith’s Corporate Law department, responsible for employment law. He took over his function as head of the Human Resources department of Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG, Crailsheim, Germany and HR Key Account of the Division Industry of Voith Turbo in October 2016. In the position as HR Business Partner Andreas Schmid is responsible for Voith Digital Ventures since October 2018.
