Voith Paper:

Hainan PM 2 - Partnership and success are continued

During the last 10 years, APP has always trusted in Voith and installed the most powerful fine paper machines. Now, with the PM 2 in Hainan, China, the most productive fine paper machine in the world was ordered after Dagang 1, 2 and 3. In less than two years, this paper machine will produce a big amount of High Quality Fine Paper every year.

This new paper machine is constructed according to the Process Line Package (PLP project) from Voith Paper. Stock preparation, the paper machine with its auxiliary systems, ventilation technology, automation and finishing are all included.  But among them are also process building blocks that can be optimally integrated into the total process. Of course, all elements that influence quality, such as Voith covers, clothing and scrapers, have also been integrated.

Regarding the machine concept, the new machine follows a similar concept as the PM 3 in Dagang. With close collaboration between APP and Voith, the operational range also being expanded for heavy paper grades. The online coating machine especially offers a great deal of flexibility for a very broad range of grades. The main goals in the selection of the concept were high productivity and maximum paper quality with minimum specific investment and operating costs. Environmental protection through low energy and water consumption are essential criteria even with these large systems.

This pioneering concept has been proven in several test series in the Paper Technology Center (PTC) in Heidenheim, Germany.  Printed samples on pilot paper from the original raw material confirmed the concept chosen.

Voith Paper is a division of Voith and one of the leading partners to the paper industry. Through steady innovations Voith Paper optimizes the paper production process. More than a third of worldwide paper production is produced on Voith Paper machines.
