In terms of cost reduction, DIWA Excellence differentiates between costs for repairs and maintenance and costs due to daily operation. For the latter, fuel costs play a substantial role. Just two or three percent less consumption lead to significant savings that can quickly amount to ten thousand Euros and more per year, even for smaller transport operators. With DIWA Excellence, Voith offers optimization of fuel consumption. By using the transmission control system, series-fitted, accelerationdependent gear-shifting programs can be further enhanced, leading to better fuel economy.

Another building block of DIWA Excellence is the examination of vehicle operation on the basis of stored operating data. A traffic analysis can reveal hidden savings potential by taking a closer look at halting times, average speeds, stops per kilometer, etc. Preventive repair or maintenance is always more cost-effective than a corrective measure, i. e. a measure after a component has failed. Against this background, DIWA Excellence supports preventive maintenance - with the advantage that this kind of maintenance can be planned in advance, leading to a higher overall availability of your fleet.

DIWA Excellence offers a series of tools for preventive maintenance. These range from "health check" to "remote transmission diagnosis." The health check is recommended for transmissions with higher mileages and will be of special interest to operators of second-hand vehicles who want to receive a fast and affordable analysis of the condition of the transmission. A comprehensive check-up of the transmission and its peripherals helps to decide whether and/or when a general overhaul is due - with the advantage of the significantly lower cost of a preventive measure.

While the health check provides a point-by-point analysis, the transmission software allows continuous monitoring. Subject to the approval of the transmission software by the vehicle manufacturer, Voith offers an extension module for the permanent condition monitoring of the transmission. With this module, the optimum point in time for a preventive maintenance can be determined with even greater accuracy, especially in combination with a remote transmission diagnosis, for example via WLAN.

Health check or continuous monitoring via transmission software - of course Voith also offers exchange transmissions or exchange units for the central components of the DIWA transmission. Apart from their short-term availability, these exchange units also provide operators with the reassurance that they get components that fulfill Voith quality regulations  - they are produced and tested on the basis of Voith series standards.
