Voith Paper: Effective October 1, 2007, Dr. Christoph Müller-Mederer was appointed Managing Director of Voith Paper Technology, Russia New Top Management in Russia Effective October 1, 2007, Dr. Christoph Müller-Mederer was appointed Managing Director of Voith Paper Technology, Russia. He replaces Douglas Miller, who in the future will work as Account Manager at Voith Paper in Heidenheim, Germany. Dr. Müller-Mederer studied mechanical engineering at Darmstadt University of Technology with a specialization in paper engineering and earned a doctorate at the internationally renowned chair for papermaking under Prof. Dr. Göttsching. The extraordinary achievement of his doctoral dissertation was recognized in 2005 by the Zellcheming Prize for the Next Generation. After completion of his studies, Dr. Christoph Müller-Mederer initially worked for five years in the research and development area at the Institute for Paper Production in Darmstadt. The main focus of his work was the preparation of recovered paper and paper coating. After that, he began working at Voith Paper within the framework of an international trainee program that also brought him to St. Petersburg and Moscow. In the past few years, Dr. Müller-Mederer worked in the area of sales for graphic paper machines and in the last three years was responsible for sales in Eastern Europe, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). He is optimally familiar with the Russian market and will direct the various Voith Paper locations in Russia from the main office in St. Petersburg. Voith Paper sees in Russia an important market that has high potential, which will be developed in the coming years.
