Voith Paper: Jass Schwarza, Germany, has run the forming roll in its PM 1 without metal or shrinking sleeves for the last 16 months Jass Schwarza Relies on CeraForm Jass Schwarza, Germany, has run the forming roll in its PM 1 without metal or shrinking sleeves for the last 16 months. This safe operating modus was made possible by applying the wear protective coating CeraForm from Voith Paper Rolls to the honeycomb structure. Michael Habek, plant manager: “The wire sleeve on a forming roll is a risk to the general plant safety. The used fabrics go under a high abrasion; this means the rolls have to be changed frequently. This also means cost intense maintenance, which is exponential when it comes to unplanned changes. Since the application of the CeraForm coating to the honeycomb structure more than one and a half years ago, we have experienced a care free and wear free performance of the forming roll. There was no negative impact on the sheet forming or the wear of the wire whatsoever. The CeraForm paid back in very short time. I really can recommend CeraForm for similar applications.” Jass Schwarza, is producing 400, 000 t/a corrugating medium and Testliner on the PM 1.
