Voith Paper: The Voith Paper City in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, P.R. China is growing. Ground Breaking Ceremony in the "Voith Paper City" in Kunshan, China The Voith Paper City in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, P.R. China is growing. On November 8th, 2007, after only a 4 year presence in China, Voith Paper Rolls China celebrated another ground breaking ceremony at the New And High-Tech Industrial Park Of Kunshan (KSND). The largest and most modern Asian Voith Paper Rolls operation will open in October 2008. It will offer not only more production capacity for all kinds of high tech roll covers produced on state of the art machinery, but it will also offer an increasing portfolio of Roll services compared to the previous Kunshan facilities that will close at that time. In May 2003, Voith Paper Rolls started to serve the Chinese and Asia/Pacific paper industry with high-end roll covers, mechanical roll services and roll cover regrinding out of its service facilities in Kunshan, Jiangsu province, and Dongying, Shandong province. Immediately, the quality level received Asian-wide recognition in the Paper Industry and established a brand name for reliability and first class quality. In October 2007, the opening ceremony took place after the first construction phase had been completed for the new Voith Paper Technology and Service Center. Now, the second phase has started with the building of the manufacturing plants for Voith Paper Rolls and Voith Paper Fabrics. The new Voith Paper Roll’s plant will be located at the same area in Kunshan named by Voith as “Voith Paper City” and next door to the new Voith Paper Fabrics operation that will open at the same time. By combining the know-how of the entire papermaking process in one location, Voith Paper will be well-prepared to provide system solutions and services to all domestic and Asia/Pacific customers in an even more focused and efficient way. The ground breaking ceremony was attended by the Standing Member of CPC Kunshan Committee, Party Secretary of KSND Management Committee and Party Secretary of Yushan Town, Zhu Fengquan as well as by the top management of the Voith Paper Rolls Group. Andreas Endters, Executive Vice President of Voith Paper Rolls and Member of the Board of Voith Paper, pointed out that after another successful business year 2006/2007 with several great achievements, the strategic move of the new Voith Paper Roll service plant to Voith Paper City allows Voith to sharpen its focus on supporting China’s demanding Paper Industry; which is well on its way to a prosperous future.
