Voith Paper: The Condat paper mill at Le Lardin Saint Lazare, France, a member of the LECTA Group, had once again placed their trust in Voith and ordered a headbox for their PM 6

New headbox at Condat met all expectations

The Condat paper mill at Le Lardin Saint Lazare, France, a member of the LECTA Group, had once again placed their trust in Voith and ordered a headbox for their PM 6 .

A MasterJet F headbox was already put into operation on the PM 4 in 2000 and has been producing to the customer’s complete satisfaction ever since.

The new headbox for the PM 6 is a MasterJet II F/B, with intelligent Profilmatic process control software for the OnQ ModuleJet dilution water control. In addition, Voith Paper has also been entrusted with the rebuild of the approach flow system, a dilution water line, and the rebuild of the first cleaner stage with Ecomizer Cleaners.

The headbox start-up was in summer 2007 after only a one week shut-down. From the very beginning a dramatic improvement of paper properties could be achieved.

The Condat paper mill, with 800 employees and an annual production of around 560,000 metric tons, is the largest in France for the production of wood-free coated papers. The PM 6 is intended more for the production of heavy paper grades, from 200 g/m2 up to 380 g/m2.

The LECTA Group, which consists of Torras Pappel in Spain, Cartiere del Garda in Italy, and Condat in France, produces 1.6 million metric tons of paper annually and is thus the leading producer of wood-free coated papers in Europe.

Voith Paper is a division of Voith and is one of the leading partners to the paper industry. Voith Paper optimizes the paper production process through constant innovations. More than a third of worldwide paper production is produced on Voith Paper machines.

Voith sets standards in paper, energy, mobility and service markets. Founded on January 1, 1867, Voith has a current workforce of 37,000, sales of EUR 4 billion and over 270 locations worldwide. It is one of the largest family-owned enterprises in Europe.

Voith is an official partner to the initiative “Germany - Land of Ideas”.
