Voith Paper: The Kazakh company Ilisky Paper-Board Plant (IKBK) has awarded Voith Paper the contract for the rebuild of the former PM 3 from Zwingen, Switzerland

Delivery of the key components for second-hand paper machine in Kazakhstan

The Kazakh company Ilisky Paper-Board Plant (IKBK) has awarded Voith Paper the contract for the rebuild of the former PM 3 from Zwingen, Switzerland. The rebuilt second-hand PM will be installed in the metropolitan area of Almaty in Kazakhstan.

Around 200 tons of high-quality copy and offset paper will be produced daily on the 3.66 m wide PM 3 with a basis weight range of 65 to 80 g/m2.

The market leading DuoShake and DuoFormer D will be installed in the fourdrinier section. The best possible formation values will be achieved through the combination of these two components. With the help of the DuoShake, the tensile MD/CD ratio can be also optimized. In addition, the DuoFormer D provides uniform filler distribution in the sheet.

Furthermore, the fourdrinier will be cantilevered to allow faster wire change.

The installation of a SpeedSizer guarantees the most even size application possible. Consecutively the contactless CB Turn ensures a trouble-free web run.

All Voith components are designed for a potential increase in speed in the future.

The papers to be produced are intended for the Kazakh market, which has previously been supplied only from abroad. In addition, paper will be exported to neighboring countries.

The start up of the paper machine is planned for the end of 2008.

IKBK is an ambitious paper concern currently with two production facilities, one of which is a second-hand board machine. Two further lines for production of newsprint and tissue paper will additionally be set up in the near future. Moreover, a second board machine is to be installed. The company employs 500 people.
