SolarFlow and SolarPress proved their capability at Norske Skog on PM 4 in Bruck, Austria. Since the installation, shadow marking is a thing of the past, and the dryness was improved up to 1% after the 4th press. This means that either less steam is needed in the dryer section or the speed of the paper machine can be increased. Currently, optimization upgrades at the PM 4 are not yet completed; a further enhancement of the dryness is expected. Additionally to the higher dryness the draw between the presses was reduced. Overall a great success.

Even the single operation of either SolarFlow or SolarPress in the press section will result in clear advantages. Due to a more open cover surface, the press nip can be dewatered more sustainable. Only by using SolarFlow on the suction press roll the dryness increased up to 0.7%.
