The "Innovation Prize in German Industry" has been in existence since 1980. It enjoys patent protection as the "First Innovation Prize in the World". The panel of experts, which includes among others Prof. Dr. Lothar Späth and Dr. Heinrich von Pierer, awards the prize each year to a company for its outstanding innovation. Only companies whose developments and products have demonstrated significant advances over current technology have an opportunity to win.
