The fascination of Voith
Employee and family party in Heidenheim
On July 13, 2017, some 4,000 Voithians celebrated the company's 150th anniversary well past midnight. The family day two days later was a festival of discoveries for all Voithians and their families.
Music, beautiful summer weather, beer brewed specially for the occasion and a jolly atmosphere: the employee party in Heidenheim was the highlight of the anniversary year. The Heidenheim Interns Band got the entertainment rolling. The Voith film prepared the employees for the company's future, and a group activity of all guests along with the Drum Cafe Percussion Band made for a real goosebumps moment: The Voithians played the rhythm part of the Voith song with clap banners. A Rockabilly dance performance and live music by the band New City Beats rounded out the program. Voithians toasted the next 150 years with the special festival beer and stormed the dance floor – first outside in front of the large stage, and then late into the night in the party tents.
The location experienced another huge rush on July 15th: family day at the Voith Headquarters in Heidenheim welcomed close to 15,000 guests onto the company grounds, on a beautiful summer day. Almost all Voithians took the opportunity to show their families their own workplaces. Together they went on guided tours and visited the various buildings and halls – many offices, the Digital Campus, and the production halls were open.
Activity booths invited both young and old to learn about the technologies and products of the company's various areas by means of different games. In addition to papermaking, visitors could experience a hydroelectric power plant from the inside thanks to a 3D animation, ride through the gear unit and gear train production halls on a mini steam locomotive, and maneuver a model of a Voith water tractor. Partners and sponsors offered activities on the company grounds; for example, members of soccer team FC Heidenheim held a goal-scoring contest and dribble training. Another highlight was the fencing piste in the factory hall, where large and small fans alike could try out fencing for themselves. Young and old also clearly had lots of fun participating in the various sporting activities such as archery, Segway tours and slack line.
