"Eco Guardians" Unite Voith Families to Protect the Yangtze River
Voith China hosted "Eco Guardians" program at the Yangtze River No. 11 Post Office in Shanghai's Wusong Paotaiwan Wetland Park. The program combined environmental education with family engagement and youth development. Nineteen employee families joined this, which helped deepen their understanding of environmental protection and further underscored Voith’s commitment to operating as a sustainability-focused organization.
During the event, participating families visited the No. 11 Post Office, which symbolizes the estuary of the Yangtze River. They also connected via video call with post offices located upstream in Qinghai, Yibin, and Wuhan to explore the river’s full ecological journey.
Engineers from Voith delivered engaging presentations on hydropower and clean energy, explaining the principles of renewable energy and sharing examples of Voith’s contributions to hydropower projects along the Yangtze. The event also featured creative activities such as a China geography puzzle challenge, traditional ink-rubbing workshops, and postcard writing. These hands-on experiences helped to integrate environmental concepts in fun and meaningful ways.
