Inauguration of the New DHBW Heidenheim Building – The Digital Campus Is Open
In May 2025, the new building of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) Heidenheim was officially inaugurated. The festive opening marks the completion of a major project that Voith supported with a donation of twelve million euros on the occasion of its 150th anniversary in 2017.
The expansion consists of two interconnected structures with a total usable area of around 4,600 square meters. The building provides space for approximately 800 students from the faculties of engineering, business, and social studies. Outdoor areas with seating steps, lounging spaces, and water features make the campus a modern and attractive place for learning and social interaction.
The new building houses the Digital Campus, which brings together IT-related degree programs in one location and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration between different faculties. The goal is to optimally prepare students for the challenges of the digital future. The nonprofit organization Zukunftsakademie also uses space in the new building to spark interest in science and technology among children and youth.
Voith has been a partner of DHBW Heidenheim since the university was founded in 1976 and has actively supported its cooperative education programs ever since. Each year, a significant number of students complete their dual studies in business and engineering programs with Voith.
