Friends & Neighbors of Pennsylvania was nominated for the donation by Mark Shearer, a Voith employee who helped to co-found the organization with his wife. The donation was used to support the organization’s Beacon Resource Center, a part-time day shelter in York city where those who are homeless can safely rest, obtain basic care, complete paperwork, and connect with service providers. 

“The $2,000 donation from Voith will benefit about 650 individuals in York city who are in need of the daytime shelter and services provided at the Beacon Resource Center,” said Mark Shearer. “Voith’s support of the Center is going to help us continue to strengthen our community as a whole.”
