President & CEO
Stephan Schaller (*1957) studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen and received a degree in engineering. In 1981, he started his career at BMW AG. From 1989 until 1999, he held various management positions and spent five years in South Africa. In 1999, he became Head of Technical Planning at Linde AG, Wiesbaden followed by the position as Technical Director of Cooling Technology in the same company. From 2004 until 2006, Stephan Schaller was the Director of Production, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles at Volkswagen AG in Hanover and from 2007 until 2010, he acted here as Board Spokesman. In 2010, Schaller moved as Deputy Board Chairman to Schott AG in Mainz, He held this position until 2011. In 2012, he became the President of BMW Motorrad for six years.
Since April, 1st, 2018, Stephan Schaller has been President and CEO of Voith.
Dr. Toralf Haag
Finance and Controlling
After his degree in Business Administration from the University of Augsburg, continued by a doctorate at the University of Kiel, Dr. Toralf Haag started his career as a personal assistant to the CEO of Thyssen Handelsunion AG in Düsseldorf in 1994.
From 1997 to 1999 he was Director Finance, M&A and Corporate Development of The Budd Company Detroit (USA), a subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp, until he was appointed as CEO President Stamping & Frame Division of The Budd Company Detroit in 2000. From 2002 to 2005 he was Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Management Board at Norddeutsche Affinerie AG (now Aurubis AG) in Hamburg until he followed an appointment as CFO and Member of the Executive Committee of Lonza Group AG in August 2005.
Since October 2016, Dr. Toralf Haag is CFO and Member of the Corporate Board of Management by Voith GmbH & Co. KGaA.
Dr. Toralf Haag is Member of the Board of Directors of Fr. Sauter AG.
Chairman Division Paper
After completing his degree in business administration and engineering, Andreas Endters started his career early in 1991 in paper machine sales at Sulzer Escher Wyss in Ravensburg. At the end of 1993 he moved to Manchester, England to take up a position at Sulzer Papertec. Following the merger of the paper divisions of Voith and Sulzer, Andreas Endters joined Voith Paper in Heidenheim in mid-1995 as Head of Sales and Marketing for “QualiFlex Press Sleeves.”
In 2000, he was appointed Executive Vice President at Voith Paper in Ravensburg; one year later, he became Chairman of the Board of Management. Two years later, in 2004, Andreas Endters was appointed to the Management Board of the Group Division Voith Paper and put in charge of the Business Division Rolls. In 2008, he moved to the Management Board of the Group Division Voith Hydro, where he was responsible for the worldwide contract handling of Large Hydro. At the end of 2011, he returned to Voith Paper as a Member of the Group Division Management, initially in charge of paper machines. Since October 2012 he has been responsible for the Business Line Projects.
Since October 1, 2017, Andreas Endters has been a member of the Corporate Board of Management of Voith GmbH & Co. KGaA and chairman of the Management Board of the Division Paper.
Dr. Uwe Knotzer
Chairman Division Turbo
After studying process engineering Dr. Uwe Knotzer obtained a doctoral degree at the Institute of Paper, Pulp and Fiber Technology at Graz University of Technology in Austria. He started his career at Voith Paper in 2002 in St. Poelten in the Board and Packing division as leader of the Technology Service department. In 2004 he was appointed manager of the AMB business and in 2005 also manager of the CE application department in St. Poelten. From 2008 to 2013 he worked for Voith Paper in China, initially as Vice President Sales for the Rolls Division. One year later he changed to the Management Board of the Voith Paper FRS division in the function as Global Product Manager. 2011 to 2012 he was member of the Management Board of Voith Paper Asia in charge for Asian P&S business. 2012 to 2015 Dr. Uwe Knotzer was a Member of the Management Board of Voith Paper, and he was in charge of the Business Line Products and Services.
On October 13, 2015 Uwe Knotzer was appointed a member of the Corporate Board of Management and Chairman of the Management Board of the Division Turbo.
Dr. Roland Münch
Chairman Division Digital Ventures
After studying electrical engineering at The Fridericiana University in Karlsruhe, Dr. Roland Münch worked as a scientific assistant at the Institute for General Electric Engineering and High-Voltage Technology at RWTH Technical University Aachen, where he also obtained his doctorate in 1990.
In 1991 Dr. Münch joined the ABB Group as a design engineer. After various senior positions he was appointed as President of ABB Calor Emag Schaltanlagen AG, Mannheim in 1998. In 1999 he went to ABB Malaysia as CEO and Country Manager.
In 2002 Dr. Münch joined the Voith Paper Management Board, assuming responsibility for the paper technology activities of Jagenberg AG, following the company's acquisition by Voith. In October 2002 he took over as Head of the Business Division Voith Paper Automation. In 2006 he was appointed to the Management Board of Voith GmbH and he has been in charge of the Group Division Voith Hydro since 2008.
Since January, 1, 2016 he has been the Chairman of the Management Board of the Division Digital Ventures.
Chairman Division Hydro
After studying industrial engineering at Esslingen Technical University, Uwe Wehnhardt joined Procter & Gamble in Crailsheim in 1989 to take up various production-related functions, followed by an appointment as Senior Departmental Manager for HR and Production. He also worked as Plant Manager for Procter & Gamble in Budapest, Hungary, and in Istanbul, Turkey.
In 2002 Uwe Wehnhardt moved to Alfred Kärcher GmbH & Co. KG in Winnenden. He started out as Director for Logistics and Production, followed by an appointment as Director Category Management Consumer Products.
In 2007 Uwe Wehnhardt joined Voith Paper Rolls GmbH & Co. KG, Heidenheim as Executive Vice President, in charge of the European market. In 2010, his tasks were extended to also cover the Division Fabrics Europe. Uwe Wehnhardt has been a Member of the Management Board of Voith Hydro since 2011, in charge of Order to Cash, covering Operations and Project Management as well as Purchasing.
Since January 1, 2016, he has been a member of the Corporate Board of Management and chairman of the Management Board of the Division Hydro.
