How long are the internships at Voith?
That depends on the kind of internship:
- The length of a mandatory internship is determined by your degree’s exam and study regulations.
- A voluntary internship can last up to a maximum of three months.
If you’d like to gain more on-the-job experience and do a longer internship, you can combine a mandatory internship with a voluntary internship.
Can I write my bachelor’s or master’s thesis after the internship?
Yes. We strive to offer our student employees suitable thesis topics. Ideally, you’ll already talk to your department during your internship and discuss possible topics for your thesis. Or you apply to one of our open opportunities.
What’s the application process for a student internship?
After you’ve uploaded your application, we’ll acknowledge receipt of your application by email. A few days later, we’ll get in touch personally. If your application convinces us, we’ll invite you to an (online) interview to get to know each other better. Based on the interview, you’ll be accepted or not.
What documents do I need to apply for an internship at Voith?
If you’d like to apply for an internship at Voith, we require the following documents:
- Cover letter
- CV
- Certificate of enrollment
- For mandatory internships: your university’s exam and study regulations
- For non-EU citizens: residence and work permit
You’re welcome to upload additional documents, such as your transcript of records or work references.

May I work from home?
Interns at Voith can work from home. The exact ratio of working from home to your hours at the office will be determined individually with your team. There’s no obligation to work from home. However, it is also not possible to work exclusively from home.
