Voith refused to scale back its spending on research and development in the period under review, despite the adverse market climate. On the contrary, its R&D spend was actually slightly higher than a year earlier at € 254 million (previous year: € 250 million). This figure is equivalent to 5.0% of consolidated sales (previous year: 5.1%).
