Voith Paper: Voith Paper Automation received an order for a OnQ ModulePro compact from Matias Gomà Tomás.

Matias Gomà Tomás invests in a water-air moisturizer to meet future customer demands

Voith Paper Automation received an order for a OnQ ModulePro compact from Matias Gomà Tomás. The family-owned paper mill was founded in 1956 and is located at La Riba in the northeast of Spain. The manufacturer of testliner and corrugated medium invested into a water-air moisturizer to improve the quality of the end product and in the same time to reduce operating costs. The start-up is planned for February 2010.

OnQ ModulePro compact is one of the latest product releases of Voith Paper Automation. It was newly designed with two rows of nozzles and a 50 or 75 mm zone width especially for existing paper machines with a maximum speed of 1,500 m/min. The water-air moisturizer ensures a uniformly remoistened paper and an optimum moisture profile over the entire paper web.

The Spanish paper producer is sure that Voith Paper Automation is the right partner for this project, because of its deep process know-how as well as the enormously reliable CD actuators and OnQ Profilmatic CD control software. "Thanks to the superior nozzle and valve technology Voith is able to guarantee outstanding 2-sigma moisture improvements. With this investment we will be able to meet our customers' most demanding requirements in future", Carles Gomà, CEO of Matias Gomà Tomás, underlined.

The paper mill Matias Gomà Tomás has one paper machine and several converting plants to manufacture corrugated board, among other products. The PM 1 with its wire width of 4,700 mm and its maximum speed above 350 m/min produces 40,000 tons of paper annually. The raw material is 100 % recycled.
