SÃO PAULO, Brazil. As part of the affirmative actions in the face of the new coronavirus pandemic, Voith delivered 4 tons of food to the residents of the Jaraguá region, northwest of the city of São Paulo, where its plant is located in Brazil, this week, June 22.
The donation to the population was possible thanks to the contributions of the employees themselves, who had their donated money converted into basic food baskets.
Among the places chosen to receive donations are the shelter for the Child and Adolescent Catarina Kentenich Educational Center, the Genesis daycare and the CDHU, all of them at Jaraguá, next to Voith's factory.
The donation of the 4 tons of food is linked to another initiative, also connected to social responsibility actions for the local community, carried out by the Voith Brazil: in April this year, more than 10,000 two-layer TNT surgical masks were delivered to the Taipas General Hospital, in the region, in addition to more than 15,000 given for the company’s employees.
Voith is convinced of how vital it is, especially at this time, to be responsible and supportive in its attitudes due to this challenging scenario. This reinforces the certainty that we will get out of this situation - employees, partners, communities and all that form the chain of stakeholders of Voith - even more strengthened and united.
