Voith Turbo celebrates 50 years in the U.S.

YORK, Pa. Voith Turbo recently celebrated its 50th anniversary of the company operating in the United States. To mark its decades in the U.S., Voith Turbo hosted a special celebration in York, Pa. to honor the company’s long history and recognize the employees who have made that history possible.

Over the past 50 years, Voith Turbo has consistently grown. Most recently in 2024, the York, Pa. Voith Turbo location celebrated a $6 million workshop expansion driven by an increase in rail business where Buy America compliance is a critical component.

Voith Turbo began U.S. operations in 1975 in Appleton, Wisconsin. In 1979, the company moved their location to Allendale, New Jersey, and in 1987, they moved to York, Pennsylvania. As their operations continued to grow, additional workshop locations opened in Sacramento, California and Houston, Texas.

Today, Voith Turbo’s U.S. operations specialize in the design, assembly, and service of high-performance power transmission equipment and solutions for a range of industries, including power, oil and gas, energy, mining, commercial vehicles, rail, and marine.
