2026-05-20 JSW selects Voith Hydro as partner for the EM package for its prestigious Bhavali PSP (6 x 250 MW) in India

Mumbai, India, May 20, 2026: Voith Hydro India is proud to announce that a step-down subsidiary of JSW Energy, one of India’s largest industrial business houses, has signed a contract with Voith Hydro for the electro-mechanical (EM) package of its Bhavali Pumped Storage Plant (PSP). The agreement was signed on February 25, 2026, in the presence of the esteemed leadership teams of both organizations.
The 1,500 MW Bhavali Pumped Storage Project is an off-stream, closed-loop PSP located in Tehsil Igatpuri (District Nashik) and Tehsil Shahpur (District Thane), in Maharashtra. This PSP project features six large Pump Turbines, each with a capacity of 250 MW.
Globally, Voith Hydro is a leader in PSP technology and is recognized as a major manufacturer of pumped storage equipment. The company has installed more than 450 pumped storage units worldwide with a combined output of well over 60,000 MW.
