We unwrap the potential of paper

The modernized plant will now achieve an impressive annual capacity of 750,000 tons of high-quality folding boxboard and coated kraft back (CKB), at a wire width of 9,000 mm.

In November 2022, Voith successfully started up the world's largest kraftliner machine for SCA, the Swedish forest industry company, at its Obbola site. While the new PM 2 was being erected in its own building, the 40-year-old PM 1 had to continue until its successor started operation. In this way, SCA was able to continue its profitable kraftliner business without interruption.

The scope of supply by Voith includes a tailor-made package ranging from stock preparation to winder section, as well as service agreements and a clothing package. Once fully ramped up, the paper machine will produce 420,000 tons of high-quality recycled containerboard.

Successful collaboration between Voith and Saica set new benchmarks in the paper industry and today maintains PM 9’s leadership position in operational efficiency and product quality.

The leading full-line supplier Voith has successfully completed the rebuild of the PM 11 at the heinzelpaper plant in Laakirchen, enabling the XcelLine paper machine to produce up to 470,000 tons of corrugated base paper per year. The conversion from graphic papers to corrugated base papers marks a significant milestone for the Austrian company, which looks back on a longstanding partnership with Voith.

Voith and Wuzhou Special Paper have successfully commissioned the new PM 21 specialty paper machine in Hanchuan, Hubei Province. It is the world's widest machine for the production of release paper.

With the successful commissioning of the WLM 2 line by Ecowipes, a leading manufacturer of nonwoven wipes, and the receipt of the Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC), Voith reports another project success in the field of nonwoven production. This milestone marks the pinnacle of a collaborative effort to advance sustainable production in the nonwovens industry.
